This is interesting from a consumer and business point of view. Uber competes with other taxi services, with its primary strategic advantage being ease of booking and paying for transportation services. A rewards program would make Uber even easier for the consumer, allowing AMEX customers to redem their points for Journies. There is natural Synergy between AMEX and uber, they both target affluent consumers who enjoy diverse and luxurious experiences. If current trends continue, UBER will become a key player in the private transportation industry and an excelent partner in expanding the AMEX brand.
